Out Like Trout

I Got Wood On 14th Street

On Wednsday afternoon they removed the fallen tree...and two standing ones. You can see the process and this foreman's high-wire antics in my Flickr photo set.

Easy Math

OK, let me get this straight: Lindsay Lohan loves to drive drunk.

NASA let astronauts drive the shuttle drunk.

In space, no one can hear you scream.

Can we get this girl fitted for a spacesuit?

Get Me A Pad...I'm ispotting!

I'm extremely pleased to announce my portfolio is now being hosted on theispot.com, the most respected illustration site on The Internets (full disclosure: I'm also their part-time tech monkey). Perhaps this will propel my career from obscurity towards widespread indifference! You can see more stuff at my site if you haven't already.

A Tree Falls in Manhattan

At 10 o'clock this morning, this big boy made like a tree and got out of here, "here" being my living room window. I'm not sure how they're gonna get this thing out, it's friggin' huge and there's no street access to the courtyard. I think it would be cool if they airlifted it out with a helicopter, but more likely I'll be serenaded by chainsaws all week. At least the Crocodile Lounge (skee-ball!) was spared. My brother say those trees with the ivy will have to come down too.

The Wisdom of Bush 156

Where's My Cartoon?

When there's a drought of cartoons on the blog that means I'm busy trying to make a living as a freelance illustrator. This past week I wrapped up a spot for the August issue of Shopping Centers Today, for an article on the shrinking retail environment. The original concept arranged the stores like Russian nesting dolls but it felt too rigid and we instead went with this shuffled stack, like shoeboxes. I draw stores all the time.

Hotel Heiress Hilton: Hometown Hockey Hero?

WorldNetDaily published a piece today on Paris Hilton's brief enrollment at Canterbury School, the pristine Catholic private school located in the center of my hometown of New Milford, CT. Alumnus P-Man told me she was a student way back when and I hadn't thunk of it until today. I used to lifeguard youth swim team at the old pool there and made out with my girlfriend on the darkened bleachers upstairs. I can't imagine what Paris did up there.

The Wisdom of Bush 155

UPDATE 7/13: I fucked this one up too. I'll fix it after the weekend.
